Is it cool to be “slept-on” though? Ask Bay Faction. The trio — James McDermott, Kris Roman and Alex Agresti — is lauded on sites like Highsnobiety where the story of the band’s origins (the boys met in Massachusetts where two of them attended Berklee College of Music) reads a little like folklore, and it arrives for this record store gig in support of last year’s very catchy Florida Guilt album, which’ll please fans of Vampire Weekend, The Smiths and Mom Jeans alike.

Miami expat Mons Vi describes its sound as “indie-rock bullshit,” but a 2019 single, “Come On Violet” is probably one of the sweetest lullabies we’ve heard this year. Two of Tampa Bay’s brightest young bands (including Yr Glow) open this one.
