The first few minutes of Sirplus’ new beat tape Squares feel like a funkier version of Mort Garson’s Plantasia, but quickly morph into the full on tribute to the classic Akai MPC 2000XL it was meant to be.
The record finds the Dirty Science producer joined by Exile (Blu & Exile), and both icons of the scene are in town for this heady producers showcase where they’ll be supported by a who’s who of Bay area beatsmiths.
