The 85th Florida Strawberry Festival is just a couple of months away, and the event is rewarding those who donate blood at specific locations with two free tickets valid for any day of the festival. This year, the festival runs from Thursday, Feb 27 through Sunday, March 8.
Another bonus for taking a needle to the arm is a chance to win two Lynryd Skynyrd concert tickets (March 8) if you make an appointment online to donate. The only thing is, the participating donation centers may be a bit of a drive. General admission tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under with a paid adult. So you’ll be saving at most, $20 and potentially saving a life from your donation. It seems like a solid tradeoff.
From January 17-20 and February 1-9 you can donate at these participating OneBlood locations:
- 39861 Highway 27, Davenport
- 727 W. Lumsden Rd., Brandon
- 2909 James L. Redman Pky, Plant City
- 3200 Lakeland Hills Blvd., Lakeland
- 38040 Market Square Dr., Zephyrhills
- 6550 US Highway 27 N., Sebring
- 11161 E. SR 70, Bradenton
- 216 Manatee Ave. E., Bradenton
Those who give blood will also receive a wellness checkup of blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count and cholesterol screening.
