Broadway star turned songwriter Ben Platt (“The Book of Mormon,” “Dear Evan Hansen”) has a new album, Reverie, out today, and he’s bringing it to Tampa next year for a concert at Amalie Arena.
Tickets to see Ben Platt play downtown Tampa’s Amalie Arena on Saturday, Feb. 26, 2022 go on sale Friday, Aug. 27 at 10 a.m. EDT. Various presales start as early as Thursday, Aug. 19.
The show is being promoted by AEG, which recently said it would require proof of vaccination at all of its U.S. venues, but Amalie is managed by a company helmed by Jeff Vinik, owner of the Tampa Bay Lightning and developer of the surrounding Water Street neighborhood.
A spokesperson for Vinik Sports Group told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that AEG’s policy does not affect Platt’s Amalie Arena show where the venue already has a handful of safety measures in place.
Platt’s entire U.S. tour actually kicks off at Orlando’s Amway Center on Feb. 23 and also includes a Feb. 25 stop at Miami’s Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.
