The ghost of Roy Orbison played to 1,187 Clearwater fans last fall, and a forthcoming performance might be even better-attended.
On Tuesday, Base Hologram announced that its Orbison apparition would return to Ruth Eckerd Hall with a Buddy Holly hologram in tow. The Rock ‘N’ Roll Dreams Tour hits Tampa Bay on November 3. Specifics on the local date have yet to be announced, but tickets for a November 4 stop in Sarasota go on sale Friday, June 21 at 10 a.m. and start at $44.99.
Like Orbison’s past performance, the holograms will be backed by a live band. We highly doubt that the duo will cancel on Tampa Bay the way Dio’s hologram did last month.
"Buddy and Roy were Texans who shared mutual respect and admiration for each other's creative musical genius and brilliant songwriting abilities," Buddy's wife Maria Elena Holly said in a release. "Their longtime fans and a new generation of fans will now have the opportunity to see these great legends perform together in a unique setting, showcasing two of the finest, most influential, and beloved artists in music history."
