A high-angle outdoor promotional photograph showing Camping In Alaska. Captured from an elevated perspective standing in a cluttered outdoor wooded clearing, four band members stand surrounded by trees, an open suitcase, and a discarded mattress: in the front left, a member wearing a white cap, dark t-shirt, shorts, and visible leg tattoos; in the center, a member in a short-sleeved light striped button-up shirt and dark pants; in the rear left, a member with shoulder-length reddish hair and a light blue shirt; and on the far right, a member with long dark hair wearing a light graphic t-shirt and dark pants under bright daylighting.

Last April, Vice asked if the phrase “I just want to kickflip into the sunset and disappear,” was an emo song title or a “text from your depressed friend at 2 a.m.”

The answer is “probably both,” but the line definitely appeared on Camping In Alaska’s breakout 2013 album Please Be Nice (stylized all-lowercase). Two albums and 13 years later, the Alabama outfit is back in the Bay area to reconnect with fans who caught the group in Ybor City a year ago.

Tickets to see Camping In Alaska, Novely, Deep Bite, and Pale Gold at Skatepark of Tampa in Tampa on Wednesday, Oct. 21 are still available and start at $24.06.
