In a summertime interview with Rolling Stone, 70-year-old guitar icon and living rock and roll legend Carlos Santana told David Browne that he was "retired from retiring."

He explained that the band had recorded its next album with Rick Rubin. Global Revelation was riddled with mostly African rhythms, according to Santana, but now the effort has a new title.

"We changed the name," Santana told Creative Loafing Tampa, "we changed the name from Global Revelation to Africa Speaks, The World Listens."

The record, which still doesn't have a release date would be the follow-up to Santana's 2017 LP with the Isley Brothers (Power of Peace, released in July), and Santana says that Africa Speaks, The World Listens has "the philosophy of medicine music to heal a twisted, crooked, collective mentality."

"Damn, that's a mouthful, he added."

A trademark has been filed, so we're guessing the name isn't going to change anymore, and fans hoping to get a taste of it might want to check out the remaining tour dates on Santana's Transmogrify tour.
