Cheekface, the L.A. indie-pop band has gone full ska on its fifth studio album, Middle Spoon. It’s the perfect upbeat, funky soundtrack to smile and bang your head into your steering wheel during your morning commute.

Pacing, the San Jose-based opening act led by Katie McTigue, gets the anxious-yet-adorable party started. Her new single “Pl*net F*tness”—about becoming a “professional membership canceller” after her father’s death—perfectly captures the incompatibility of capitalism and grief.
