Horns on the road. The sound of brass is all over a brand new track Tampa Bay roots outfit The Mojo Gurus, which has earned a rocking reputation from “Tottenham to Tampa.”
Led by frontman Kevin Steele, the long-running band — which includes Doc Lovett on guitar, Vinnie Granese on bass, plus drummer Sean Doyle — is turned up loud on this preview from its forthcoming LP, Gone (due June 30 via MRI Entertainment). The four-minute cut is dripping with Memphis Soul, and it’ll be butted up against blues (“All I Do Is Cry”), ballads (“Never Met A Girl Like You Before”) and social commentary (“Love Somebody”) on the the album.
“I truly believe, Gone contains the best writing I’ve ever done. It is without a doubt the Mojo Gurus’ best work and I can’t wait to share it with everyone,” Steele said in a release. “I think it’s our best album yet and the whole band agrees.”
