Concert review: Shooter Jennings and Hierophant at State Theatre

You’d think that I would have learned my lesson by now, but no. Even after finding out the hard way that Hank III is nothing like his father or grandfather, I still walked blindly into a Shooter Jennings concert, confident that I knew what to expect. In my defense, my knowledge of Shooter Jennings’ music dates to the era of Put the “O” Back in Country (2005) and Electric Rodeo (2006). Songs like “Sweet Savannah,” “Lonesome Blues” and “Southern Comfort” represent the kind of sound that I associate with the name "Shooter Jennings." Apparently, I was dead wrong.
