With a name like “The Homeless Gospel Choir,” you’d think that you’re in for an emotional evening, but that’s just the moniker for Derek Zanetti’s folk-punk project, which allows the singer-songwriter to vent about how mental health should be treated like physical health, and how he swallows his vomit whilst defending the Democratic party in a heated argument against a racist family member.
The 23-year-old opens for Atlanta-based Warped Tour duo ‘68 with tracks from his latest album Fourth Dimension Intervention and more.
Tickets to see The Homeless Gospel Choir and ’68 play Tampa Orpheum on Friday, March 8 are still available and start at $18. Subscribe to Creative Loafing newsletters.
