A promotional press photograph by Shelby Merry showing country musician Nick Shoulders. Captured in a centered medium shot in an open grassy field, country artist Nick Shoulders stands smiling while holding a fiddle and bow tucked under his chin. He wears a wide-brimmed straw hat with a chin strap, a short-sleeved light-tan button-down work shirt showing prominent sleeve tattoos on his forearms, and a dark mustache, set against a background of dry winter grass, bare trees, and a wooden post fence under soft, clear daylight.

Tampa gets a dose of shithole country this weekend thanks to Nick Shoulders.

The mustachioed Arkansan songwriter released his fifth studio LP Refugia Blues almost a year ago and continues to support the rootsy collection of Americana that addresses the social issues prevalent in past releases (Home On The Rage, All Bad) while bringing the 37-year-old back to his solo roots (before the arrival of his ace band, Okay Crawdad).

U.K. folkie Leonie Evans, whose 2016 covers LP Time Capsule Of Songs From Nola is a dose of Southern hospitality, opens the show.

Tickets to see Nick Shoulders and Leonie Evans at Orpheum in Tampa on Sunday, Nov. 1 are still available and start at $28.69.
