The cover, err, tribute bands keep reelin’ in the fans—this time with South Florida’s 12-member ensemble Do It Again paying homage to the great jazz-rock band Steely Dan. It’s been about six years since Donald Fagen and Walter Becker brought the band to the Bay area, so if you’re a fan this might be the closest you’ll get to some fine Colombian and Cuervo Gold anytime soon (just don’t expect to see Beckner, who sadly passed in 2017 at the age of 67).

The Mahaffey updated its COVID-19 protocols on May 13; now the venue only only recommends, not requires, masks and there is no longer a temperature check (this changes depending on the type of event—for instance, The Florida Orchestra still requires masks, so check before you go.) There is still social distancing, deep cleaning and all of that extra stuff.

If you're not vaxxed, please wear a mask—”Peg” will sound the same either way.

Do It Again. Friday, May 21, 8 p.m. $29-$49. Mahaffey Theater, St. Petersburg. themahaffey.com
