Arguably Squeeze's best work, the Elvis Costello-produced East Side Story contains all of the elements that make up a perfect pop album. The bouncy opener, "In Quintessence," has songwriting duo Chris Difford and Glenn Tillbrook singing in tandem while an unforgettable bass line chugs along in the background. The literate and poppy "Someone Else's Heart" and the ubiquitous '80s radio standard "Tempted" follow. If you're unfamiliar with Squeeze beyond "Tempted," East Side Story is the place to start.
