This year marks 20 years since South Carolina-based emo dad-rock band Emery independently released its first EP (yes, all you emo dudes are dads now).

On June 24, the consistently creative quintet that gave us “Studying Politics” released Rub Some Dirt On It, a new album that will be promoted on the Labelfest tour coming to Tampa on Thursday, July 7.

The tour’s third date—featuring support from Underoath’s Aaron Gillespie (playing his Southern Weather album in full) and Idle Threat—is supposed to take place at the new Orpheum next week, but shows on the calendar there have been moved recently as the venue puts the finishing touches on its relocation.

UPDATE: It happened. This show is now happening at the New World Brewery music hall located at 810 E Skagway Ave. in Tampa.
