Emo Night Tampa, in a lot of ways, has become something of an institution for local music lovers. The shows, always no cover, have been a constant presence on the Tampa Bay concert calendar for more than eight years, and this weekend the party finds itself back at another downtown mainstay, The Hub, which has been around for 76 years.

“It’s one of those places that you should just experience. It’s a great place to start the night & and even better place to end one,” Emo Night Tampa organizers recently wrote about the dive. “We’ve had everything from business meetings there to dance parties to going away parties. Needless to say, The Hub (& staff*) hold a special place in our hearts. The stories that place could tell.”

To commemorate the show happening this weekend, Emo Night Tampa is pressing a limited run of shirts designed by Tampa artist (and Creative Loafing Tampa Bay illustrator Cory Robinson).

The music happening Saturday comes care of punk-scene golden child Pet Lizard, plus Big Sad (a band featuring CL photojournalist Dave Decker, and prepping for the release of a new album, Black Umbrellas), plus DJ Karebare (aka Split founder Kierstyn Breaux) and more.

There’s no cover for Emo Night Tampa happening at The Hub in Tampa on Saturday, March 9.
