Homecomings are a hallmark of this week’s live music calendar, and Leon Majcen is doing his part. The expat Tampa Bay songwriter makes his bed in Nashville these days—and you can hear Music City’s influence by way of the slide guitar on recent, low-tide ready bop “Mangrove Shores”—but the songwriter cut his teeth, and cultivated that trademark growl of a vocal, in local clubs on both sides of the bay.

He’s joined on the SHAMC stage by Bryan Elijah Smith, a Virginia songwriter who recently collaborated on the comeback album from Lakeland’s own Rachel Van Plating.

Tickets to see Leon Majcen play Safety Harbor Art & Music Center on Saturday, Dec. 16 are still available, and while this is a pay-what-you-can gig, $10 is the suggested donation amount to keep SHAMC up and running.
