Face To Face’s new album finds the old-school California punk band presenting songs recorded during its club and dive bar tour, but this trek finds Trever Keith & co. hitting larger venues with another seminal Golden State punk outfit, Lagwagon, which is touring behind (yes, you’re reading this right) its new, and ninth, album Railer.
“The idea of [the title track] was to embrace and appreciate what you have,” Lagwagon frontman Joey Cape said in a release. “I really specifically tried to make it feel and sound like an old Lagwagon song, so I borrowed a lot from early records for it. And then from there, I just kept thinking that the rules have to be that ‘Railer’ feels like something Lagwagon might have done in the old days.”
Face to Face w/Lagwagon/H20. Thurs. Oct. 17, 7 p.m. $31. The Ritz, Ybor City. theritzybor.com.
