  • are making a bid for the UK's Christmas Number One single position with the aid of a Facebook group. Their opponent is this year's winner of that reality competition show, X Factor. No reports yet on if they've written a letter to Santa to make their Christmas wish come true.
  • Animal Collective's new movie, ODDSAC, will be shown at the Sundance Film Festival and feature music and visuals created by the group. A nice way for Robert Redford to kick back and enjoy himself after a full day of watching artsy indie flicks that may or may not suck.
  • A new movie about The Kinks is currently in the works. Julien Temple, whose credits include a documentary on the Sex Pistols, will direct. "You Really Got Me" wanting to go to the theater to see this one, Temple.
  • The Killers lead singer Brandon Flowers is rumored to be going solo, since the Las Vegas band has no plans to release an album in the near future. And somewhere in St. Petersburg, a devastated girl named Kristina is getting drunk and bawling her eyes out as she finds a way to cope.
