The title of Pearl & the Oysters’ latest album is Canned Music, but there is nothing manufactured or ready made about the Gainesville pop band’s sound.

From the beginning of straight-from-an-outer-space-carnival album opener “Water-Lily Waltz” until the final blips of synth-driven, dance-party-ready closer “Jupiter,” the album plays like a 14-track, nearly 40-minute parade takes you on a swinging, soulful, ‘60s-pop loving joyride. One of the Bay area’s brightest pop exports — The Jackettes, supporting one of 2018’s best local albums Live The Endless Bummer — rounds out the local part of the bill which includes another CL favorite, Garden Club.

Admission to the show is free, but you must be 21 to enter The Bends legally.

Pearl & The Oysters w/The Jackettes/Garden Club. Thurs. March 7, 10 p.m. No cover. The Bends, St. Petersburg. aestheticized.com.
