Defeated Sanity is a month away from embarking on a US tour, which includes a stop at Tampaโ€™s Orpheum.

The German death metal groupโ€”which hasnโ€™t been to town since a 2016 gig at the late, great Pegasus Loungeโ€”dropped a new album last year called Chronicles of Lunacy, which its Bandcamp page describes as a return to its headbanger roots after years of โ€œinfusing old-school death metal with jazzy chaos and the technical precision of a classical composer.โ€

Founding drummer Lille Gruber actually just released a drum playthrough of the record’s second-to-last track โ€œCondemned to Vascular Famine,โ€ so if youโ€™re more of an air-drummer at gigs than an air-guitar whiz, you have some time to get your practice in before him and the band share the bill for Columbus metal band Sanguisugabogg, among a plethora of others.

Tickets are $38.25 for Defeated Sanity at Tampa Orpheum on Friday, Nov. 21.
