While he isnโ€™t related to Rufus and Loudon, Victor Wainwright is still enough of a beast behind the keys to lay claim to a 2018 Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album.

This double-feature gig will be slightly evolutionary, with the first set featuring the 44-year-old Georgia boy and his piano paying tribute to his early heroesโ€”from Little Richard to Dr. Johnโ€”who proved that you donโ€™t have to strap on a guitar to be a rockstar.

After a break, his quintet The Train (including a two-piece horn section) joins for a set of newer originals, with selections from albums as recent as 2020โ€™s Memphis Loud.

Tickets to see Victor Wainwright & the Train play Hough Hall at Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg on Saturday, Feb. 15 are still available and start at $25.
