Gregg Allman, music legend, died Saturday afternoon at his home near Savannah, Ga.

He was 69.

According to his website, Allman had struggled with health issues for years.

Allman, according to Variety (and to this writer) was one of the "leading lights of Southern Rock."

…listened to "Melissa" until the LP wore out

…loved Phish

…loved any jam band

…got lost in the Marshall Tucker Band's "Fly Like an Eagle"

…then you join us in mourning the loss of this southern rock great.
