In an phone interview with CL last week, puppeteer and musician David Liebe Hart (of Adult Swim’s “Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Good Job!” fame) went off in the best way.

Here are some topics we hit during our full speed, 10-minute, meandering chat:

  • His past as an L.A. street performer. He thinks it sucks how cities try to suppress street entertainers these days.
  • The rudeness of some Pokemon Go-playing show goers. If you do it at the show on Saturday, then he will probably never return.
  • The idea that aliens are coming to take over humankind.

What really stood out, however, was Hart’s love of collecting & selling brass trains, and a deep seeded desire to help everyone he meets.

"My family taught me how to help each other out," he said.

And while the telephonic pow-wow barely stayed on the rails, that’s how we expect his entertaining, enigmatic live show to go on Saturday when Hart and his touring partner/manager Jonah Mociun bring a full smattering of puppets to help bring Hart’s new exploration of electro to life onstage for fans who are are either curious to see what all the fuss is about or devoted wholly to Hart’s unique and inimitable style, but never caught in the middle.

Head to CL events calendar to get details on the show, and watch this crazy ass video below to get warmed up.
