Bad Religion w/ Against Me!, Dave Hause There’s no way around it, Against Me!’s new LP, Shape Shift With Me, is going to stand near the very top of the album heap at the end of 2016. On it, frontwoman Laura Jane Grace is braver than she’s ever been while her bad sounds as angry as all get out on songs like “Provision L-3” and “Rebecca” where she spins love songs for the ones in the crowd who feel like the real thing is probably just out of their grasps. Bad Religion is at the top of this bill, but the courtyard will be packed early for sure. (Jannus Live, St. Petersburg) INFO

Chick Corea Elektric Band There aren’t many sounds within the down beat scene that pianist Chick Corea hasn’t tackled, and where kids might hear selections and think “ugh, elevator music,” the rest of us hear the innovator who played with Miles Davis in the late 1960s and early 1970s before going on to bebop his way around so many strains of fast-moving jazz fusion that sounded like the future at the time and landed him a place at the table along side guys like Keith Jarrett and Herbie Hancock. The 75-year-old has some distinguished company on this lineup thanks to drummer Dave Weckl, bassist John Patitucci, Grammy-winning sax man Eric Marienthal and guitarist Frank Gambale. Acoustic BBQ w/Jeff Brawer Hump days are pretty normal in the grand scheme of life, and they’re easy to take for granted when a bar does a weekly BBQ concert series so well. Jeff Brawer is no stranger to the patio at New World Brewery, but that doesn’t mean his appearance won’t be any less special since the gravelly-throated punk rock poetry he spews for Old Vices, Raguckas and in solo stuff never, ever grows old.
