The eighth annual edition of Homegrown Hip Hop – a summertime showcase of Tampa Bay talent presented by B.A.S.E. Inc Music and A2BAY Hip Hop – spotlights some newer names along with a few old vets on the Local 662 stage.
Upbeat, always-grinding emcee (and event organizer) Infinite Skillz performs, while Rival also takes up a feature spot with his soulful posi-minded rap qualities. Other highlights in NYC-bred locally-based emcees Ladi G and Ya Boy Skolla of the group We a Problem, who trade rhymes and un-phased attitude in joints like bass-banger “Look At Me,” and El Presidente, a Headnokka crew member with a potent, calculated flow style. Also performing on this night are Jon Ditty & Foundation-FNDTN with DJ Hurley, Waystid Talent LLC, and Blu J.D.; live spins by DJs Da Beav, Reality and Skeelow. Recovery Sunday’s Busta Wild 941 serves as master of ceremonies.
