Self-proclaimed “slow rockers” Horse Jumper of Love (pictured) brings alt-rock riffs to Tampa’s Hooch and Hive this Friday. Lyrics from its first LP depict adolescent angst, but the Boston-band’s sophomore album So Divine, which was released just a few months ago, tackles mature themes of reminiscing and elusiveness. Horse Jumper of Love has solid support for its upcoming Tampa show, as psychedelic-folk act Someday River and feel-good indie rockers Taverns appeal to their own corners of Tampa Bay music.

Horse Jumper Of Love w/Someday River/Taverns. Fri. Feb. 7, 9 p.m. $12-$15. Hooch and Hive, Tampa. brokenmoldentertainment.com
