It’s pretty normal for “American Idol” contestants to show up in Tampa Bay, but usually at a festival of sorts, or a venue no larger than Jannus Live. Not this weekend.

Crystal Bowersox, an “Idol” runner-up in 2010, has kept a somewhat quiet profile in recent years, but she did drop a new record, HitchHiker, on New Year’s Day.

For what appears to be her Tampa Bay debut, the 36-year-old will go it alone on Saturday at The Attic in Ybor City for an evening with where she’ll also raise money for Beyond Type 1, a nonprofit she’s long supported, being a type 1 diabetic herself.
