
There are some exceptions though, like how the Indigo Girls’ Emily Saliers called Kristy Lee’s ultra-soulful latest album Olive Tree a tour de force, full of mind-blowing song structure and a “penetrative voice.”
Lee (who opened for the ‘Girls in Clearwater last May, and once got some of their lyrics tattooed in Ybor City) tends to present her uplifting material at smaller house concerts when she’s headlining, like at the indie Clearwater room’s weekly gig this Friday.
And if that day doesn’t work out for you, her website shows that she’s set to play at Safety Harbor Art and Music Center closer to the end of the year.
