There aren’t a lot of things Dave Stryker hasn’t done, but his latest album, As We Are, did see the jazz guitar master trying out recording in a quartet (featuring John Patitucci, frequent collaborator with the late Chick Corea, nonetheless).

This matinee set finds the 64-year-old Stanley Turrentine sideman in familiar digs (he’s played for Tampa Jazz Club twice), this time alongside Florida greats saxophonist Jack Wilkins, bassist Mark Neuenschwander, pianist Per Danielsson and drummer Walt Hubbard. We’ve got our fingers crossed for a run through Nick Drake’s “River Man.”
