Jazz guitarist Dave Stryker had to postpone his January Tampa performance at Hillsborough Community College due to a day-of-show flight conflict.

But this time around, the 64-year old friend of Jared Gold and Steve Slagle has no plans to put his third appearance at HCC off again. The 64-year-old plays HCC’s Mainstage Theatre on the Ybor City campus at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 6.

He has a new album out, entitled As We Are, which features a string quartet, and bassist John Patitucci (a longtime friend and bandmate of the late Chick Corea).

Stryker’s original HCC show was in a sense, a release party, so this Sunday, just pretend that it’s still January, and it’ll feel like nothing ever happened.
