Each turn of the earth offers a fresh opportunity for new perspective and a clean slate on your creative endeavors. Songwriter Ona Kirei is taking full advantage on her new album Full, New, Luna, set to be recorded this summer.

“When I think about the journey that took me here, and how beautiful it looks what lies ahead, I get a little emotional,” she wrote in a release. “These cycles have brought incredible blessings, even though they were often hidden under the form of curses. This has made me see the world from a different perspective and gave me a sense of purpose.”

Her upcoming concert includes a powerhouse nine-piece band that features familiar, beloved faces from the Barcelona-born artist’s jazz days (including guitarist LaRue Nickelson and drummer Mark Feinman), but also a string section and piano player (Anthony Aldissi) who’ll help breathe life into Kirei’s new “Hispanic/Neo-Soul style.”

Tickets to see Ona K play St. Petersburg’s Studio@620 on Thursday, June 29 are still available for $10-$15.
