Thousands of Wilco fans spent the holidays in a really melancholy and somber mood, and it’s all Jeff Tweedy’s fault.

The 51-year-old songwriter released Warm, his first solo album of new material after Thanksgiving, and over the last few months it’s become an essential, unintentional companion piece to the Wilco frontman’s new memoir, Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back): A Memoir of Recording and Discording with Wilco, Etc.. We fully expect this acoustic show supporting Warm to also borrow storytelling elements from the sold-out book tour Tweedy did in 2018. James Elkington — a British-born, Chicago-based guitarist who’s collaborated with Tweedy, Steve Gunn and Richard Thompson — opens this Tampa Theatre show, which somehow hasn’t sold out as of press time.
