Having grown up in a very conservative Alabama town, it’s no shock that Jessie Murph was heavily exposed to country music. According to an interview with Women In Pop, a handful of angry parents on TikTok—where some of her less country-esque tunes blew up—told the 19-year-old that her lyrics were unladylike, and she needed to be the opposite.
In short, Murph told them to suck rope, and now she’s collaborating with the likes of Jelly Roll and Polo G.
