UPDATE: Apparently the bromance between PEOTUS and Kanye West wasn't enough to get Yeezy on the list of inauguration performers. In fact, according to Inaugural Committee chair Tom Barrack, everyone's favorite rapper/ranter just wasn't typically and traditionally American enough for the festivities. Here's the quote via CNN:

“We haven’t asked him. He’s been great. He considers himself a friend of the President-elect, but it’s not the venue. The venue we have for entertainment is filled out, it’s perfect. It’s going to be typically and traditionally American, and Kanye is a great guy, but we just haven’t asked him to perform. We move on with our agenda.”

Geez, were they afraid he was gonna do "Blood On the Leaves" or something?

You know, 2016 can't get any weirder, so let's just spend 45 seconds thinking about the possibility of President-elect Donald Trump and embattled rapper Kanye West collaborating.

CoS points out that West — in his second public appearance since being hospitalized — met with the Orange one in New York City to discuss what Trump described to the press as "life."

West, who was sporting a Trump-ish pantone on his dome, would not comment on whether or not he would play the inauguration.

If you believe 'em, E!  says that the dynamic duo may have been discussing a potential role for the rapper. "Something akin to 'an ambassador of sorts,'" they wrote.
