Johnny Jetson oozes rock and roll, and it’s not just his Mick Mars hair, leopard everything, patched up denim or the look that says he’s been hanging in a Hollywood dive bar for a decade or two.

Jetson’s music is catchy, glam-influenced rock meant to have create a fucking good time. Like a pop-y Black Rebel Motorcycle Club or something Nick Cage’s Valley Girl character would be listening to—it’s the lo-fi Stooges on a bender. Jetson plays Tampa’s Brass Mug for a Friday night show, keeping his image purely seedy.

What really rocks is that there is no more smoking inside of the Brass Mug, masks are required and temperatures are taken at the door. Sick Hot, whose vintage rock and roll fits the bill perfectly, opens the show.

Johnny Jetson w/Sick Hot/Zero Effect. Friday, April 16, 6:30 p.m. $10. Brass Mug, Tampa. INFO
