Heart and Joan Jett had to share a bill with Cheap Trick’s Robin Zander when they played MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in the fall of 2016, but that won’t be the case on Saturday since the Wilson sisters and Jett tap “Ex’s & Oh’s” singer Elle King to open a femme-powered blockbuster summer tour.
The 30-year-old, free-spirited Los Angeles songwriter has been an unfiltered bright spot on the indie-rock scene, and she’s recently emerged from a brief hiatus that was borne of depression and PTSD related to her abusive, year-long marriage. King documented that rough patch of her life on a 2018 album, Shake The Spirit, whose sound will rattle the rafters at Tampa’s largest venue.
