Reversal of Man once wrote in its Revolution Summer liner notes that reunion shows for the sake of โ€œold school resurgenceโ€ should be a criminal offense. But after a few weeks of social media teases, the legendary Tampa hardcore group has confirmed its first reunion show in 25 years, happening this summer in Ybor City.

About a year after the shuttering of 403 Chaosโ€”the beloved Hyde Park punk venue-slash-record-shop that hosted groups like The Get Up Kids and New Found Gloryโ€”the band, which was a regular at the hangout, followed the venu’s lead and called its quits after playing one last gig in Gainesville.

403 Chaos has since been filled by Dean Street Fine Art Gallery, but the band’s presence lingered, because a three-LP compilation set that emerged in 2022 sold over 1,000 copies over the span of a day-and-a-half.

This gig, which will be opened by Meatwound, Novely, and Watts, wonโ€™t feature the exact same lineup you may have spent the late-โ€˜90s with, though.

Frodus drummer Jason Hamacher and Horsewhip frontman-slash-guitarist Shaun Drees will join forces with Matt Coplon, Jeff Howe, and friends, along with classic lineup guitarist Jasen Weitekamp returning to the fold for the first time since 1998.

Tickets to see Reversal of Man play Crowbar in Ybor City on Saturday, Aug. 30 are now on sale and cost $25.
