The latest surge of retro appreciation has been lovingly devoted to yacht rock, those soft and polished AC sounds from the late ’70s and early ’80s churned out by the likes of Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Christopher Cross, Steely Dan, Toto and Gerry Rafferty. Ten local bands — including 8 Kinds of Thunder (post-Nessie rock), Weapons of Ass Destruction (which earned a ‘Loudest band in Tampa Bay’ nod from CL in ’07), FunkN8 (horn-fused funk rock) and Vodkanauts (power surf-lounge) — deliver their own signature interpretations of select warm FM classics during “Takin' It To The Streets: A Tribute To Yacht Rock.” Get ready to shake it, nice and easy.
