I had completely forgotten about Shawn Mullins’ late-’90s hit “Lullaby,” but as soon as I listened to it, I remembered every single word.

If you were born before ‘95 you’ll probably have the same pop culture memory deep in a brain fold. If you’re younger, know that Mullins has a pre-9/11 singer-songwriter vibe very similar to Train (or a less Droopy Dog-version of the Counting Crows). Though Mullins might seem like a one-hit-wonder he has been pushing out music long after the Hollywood-story song was nominated for a Grammy. He continued to write songs that were featured in television shows like “Scrubs” and “Dawson’s Creek” and consistently releases albums in the pop-folk-storytelling vein.

Mullins’ latest tour brings him to Safety Harbor for two shows Saturday night at this covered, outside stage.

If you want to start your weekend at SHAMc, guitarist Shaun Hopper and violinist Chris Barbosa are playing a Friday night show. Masks are required and the shows are rain or shine, i.e. no refunds.

Shawn Mullins. Saturday, May 1, 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. $35 adv./$40 at the door. Safety Harbor Arts and Music Center, safetyharborartandmusiccenter.com
