While we’re still waiting for a Kississippi headlining gig in Tampa Bay, but we’re content that the group’s returning this winter with fellow Philly-punk band, Mannequin Pussy. With a self-described sound that’s “like a bat stuck in a tent,” Mannequin Pussy, supporting a new album, Patience, gives fans charred vocals from lead singers Marisa Dabice and Colins Rey Regisford.
Providing support is Kississippi, led by the personable and talented Zoe Reynolds, who slayed when the band opened for Dashboard Confessional at Jannus. This club gig at Crowbar offers an even more intimate experience, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed hoping that Kississippi gets to play more than six songs this time around.
Mannequin Pussy w/Kississippi. Wed. Dec. 11, 8 p.m. $13 & up. Crowbar, Ybor City. crowbarybor.com.
