A promotional group portrait photograph of indie rock band Modest Mouse. Standing inside a wooden barn structure with stalls and rafters, five figures pose in white jump-suit outfits and costumes. In the center, frontman Isaac Brock holds hands with two people on either side who wear character masks—one with a blue face and patterned rain boots gesturing outward, and another with a masked face on the right. Behind them stand two figures draped under white sheet ghost costumes, alongside a band member in a white shirt, beige trousers, and a white brimmed hat under warm indoor lighting.

Guitarist Simon O’Connor was recently dropped from the Modest Mouse lineup after he sent inappropriate messages to a minor (he says he was being trolled), but frontman Isaac Brock has soldiered on to support a new grief-stricken LP An Eraser and a Maze.

It’s the West Coast indie-rock king’s first true blue indie release in about three decades and plays looser than anything Modest Mouse has released in the same time frame.

Tickets to see Modest Mouse and Robber Robber at The BayCare Sound in Clearwater on Wednesday, Sept. 16 are still available and start at $63.50.
