A concert performance photograph showing Mutant Fusion Collective performing live on an indoor stage. Captured in a wide horizontal shot under bright magenta, blue, and purple stage lights, the four-piece jazz-rock fusion band performs in front of a stone wall backdrop. On the left, guitarist Kirk Yates plays a red electric guitar in a red long-sleeved shirt; at center, saxophonist Brian Doss performs with a tenor saxophone and synthesizer keyboard on a stand; and in the background, drummer Michael LaPick plays at his drum kit alongside bassist Cabe Crisler.

Last year, Pinellas County Commissioners handed Visit St. Pete-Clearwater money that was supposed to go to Creative Pinellas. Part of the distribution of those funds has resulted in “Art Everywhere,” a month-long celebration of art. Programming kicks off Sunday and runs through Dec. 6.

There’s almost never anything normal about the music at Dunedin Brewery, so it makes sense to see the venue staying weird with the grant it got from the tourism agency.

A day-long music festival includes familiar genres (rap, jazz, rock, soul, funk) all delivered by artists who refuse to be boxed in, be it xylophone-banging Mike Dillon, Miami fusion outfit Electric Kif, experimental jazz trio Chaunces, the Mutant Fusion Collective, or improv-rap specialist Jon Ditty. Zero Context, featuring “100% bespoken music un-conducted by [Dunedin Brewery GM] Mike Bryant” closes it out with a late night set.

All of it will be marked by collaborations, the spirit of improvisation and the willingness to take a set into unfamiliar terriory.

There’s no cover for Unusual Noise happening at Dunedin Brewery in Dunedin on Saturday, Nov. 7.
