Nicole (elawgrrl) – Off With Their Heads, Home (2013, Epitaph)
On "Seek Advice Elsewhere," Off With Their Heads frontman Ryan Young laments, "I need some time to find my place." Happily, this record has a secure place – at the heart of your 2013 record collection. From the first note off the band's latest full-length, your toes start tapping and your head starts bopping and it doesn't stop through 12 songs of gritty punk rock marked by a few curve balls, via tempo with "Please Don't Make Me Go Home" (it’s a ballad), and with the synths found in "Stolen Away." Home aptly showcases the band’s evolution while keeping the base solid. Check it out, then go see Off With Their Heads at any of their Florida dates with Alkaline Trio this — May 8 at Revolution, Ft. Lauderdale, May 9 at Florida Theatre in Gainesville, and May 10 at House of Blues, Orlando. And finally, to add a brand new source of satirical amusement to your twitter feed, visit via @owth.
