Fans of the indie-pop all-star Wallows—which played to a sold-out Ritz crowd last week—will definitely be back in Ybor City for Coin’s Tuesday night show. The two bands share a hard-hitting alt-pop sound, and Nashville’s Coin (stylized “COIN,” and known for its catchy hooks and upbeat indie-rock riffs) is back in Tampa after opening for Young The Giant over the summer.
This time, Coin headlines and is supporting its newest album, Dreamland. Despite being just a few weeks old, Dreamland singles “Crash My Car” and “Cemetery” already have tens of millions of streams on Spotify. If you’re planning on being in the Coin crowd, expect to be surrounded by girls screaming every word of its songs—because the indie-pop band is just that poppin’.
