Another weekend is here, and that means another full agenda of great local music. Read about some of the best shows happening — and see a listing of the rest — below.

THURSDAY JUNE 06

Rock the Park Tampa w/Kristopher James/Garden Club/Claire Vandiver There are hordes of electric scooters all over downtown Tampa, and it’d be pretty cool if a bunch of riders pressed pause on the journey and parked those things at Rock the Park, where a long-running, free, family and pet-friendly concert series is welcoming pop songwriter Claire Vandiver to open an evening that includes jazz- and pop-leaning outfit Garden Club plus a full-band set from Bay area songwriter Kristopher James, who recently completed funding for his debut full-length, Kindness Never Quits. FRIDAY JUNE 07

Changer w/Broken Things/Friendly Fire With the help of friends from across St. Petersburg, two Bay area punk and indie-pop bands (Changer, Broken Things) have teamed up to put music on vinyl, and on Friday they head to Central Avenue dive Emerald Bar for a 7-inch release show where Jacksonville quartet Friendly Fire plugs in and then plays hard and fast to warm up the show. (Emerald Bar, St. Petersburg) INFO

Same Day Delivery Orchestra It’s always an adventure when close to a dozen string players try and jam themselves onto one stage. That’s what’s happening on Friday when Same Day Delivery Orchestra hits Ella’s Americana Folk Art Café, where the ensemble — which covers songs from some of the Bay area’s best bands — is set to unveil its take on “Young Guns,” a new single from St. Petersburg cowpunk band Fever Beam. This show is free to attend. (Ella’s Americana Folk Art Café, St. Petersburg) INFO

SATURDAY JUNE 08

Nasty Savage w/Blood Feast/Cult of Frost/Deceptive Intruder/Carnal Ruin In the ‘80s, Nasty Savage emerged out of the Tampa suburb of Brandon and brought thrash metal to the world via its 1983 cult-favorite album, Wage of Mayhem. World tours followed, and one last run through the U.S. happened in 1990. A few reunions followed (2012, 2014, 2016) before the band mourned the 2018 death of bassist Richard Bateman last September. On Saturday, the legendary outfit says goodbye to hometown fans with what it says is Nasty Savage’s last show ever. (Brass Mug, Tampa) INFO
