, Anika (Stones Throw/Invada Records)

The psyche singer who lives between Berlin and Bristol teamed up with Portishead multi-instrumentalist/producer Geoff Barrow. He was looking for a new singer to work with his band, Beak>. A week later Anika and Beak> (Barrow, Billy Fuller and Matt Williams) spent 12 days in the studio recording live (no overdubs) and produced a trashy, quasi-political album mixing elements of punk, dub, funk, experimental rock and psyche bizarrity. The album includes obscure covers (Yoko Ono's "Yang Yang") along with originals. Check out the DMT-trippy video for the song "Yang Yang" below, and more new album releases after the jump.
