Tampa fans still canโ€™t thank Joywave enough for playing two gigs in Ybor City back in 2022: One at the since-relocated Orpheum to fulfill its long-postponed March 2020 stop (which was supposed to kick off a brief run of Florida-exclusive shows that month), and then again at The Ritz to make up for lost time.

Three years down the line, the New York alt-indie outfit is taking to larger spaces to push its latest album Permanent Pleasure, where thereโ€™s a rollercoaster of styles and emotions in play, but also a line that sums up the introvert experience better than anything else weโ€™ve heard: โ€œI hate to be a bother, but could you leave me the fuck alone?โ€

Tickets to see Joywave play Jannus Live in St. Petersburg on Thursday, May 15 are still available for $32.
