Quarters of Change started off as a cover band, which would eventually record its own material after hours in the band membersโ€™ school basement.

On the ultra-youthful New York rock outfit’s latest album Portraits, the guys let their Tom Petty and Red Hot Chili Peppers influence leak through their sound while they talk about depression and how โ€œthe more we get older, the less that we know.โ€

Whether thatโ€™s a stab at how dementia or memory problems in general can seem inevitable, or just a knock at falling out of touch with trends and lingo of new generations, Quarters Of Change plays its annual fall show in Tampa Bay, with a little help from groovy Miami-based indie group The Hails.

Tickets to see Quarters of Change play Crowbar in Ybor City on Thursday, Sept. 26 are still available and star at $19.
