May 18th is Haitian Flag Day, and Saturday finds a University of Miami product, Major Nine dropping into the suburbs to celebrate.

Mr. Nine is also known as Cleveland Browns defensive end Chad Brown, which is amazing since he’s somehow managed to balance being a pro athlete with the rigors of a musical life that’s found him making music with Rick Ross, Raphael Saadiq and more. Expect to hear some of Major Nine’s collab hits as well as solo material during this one happening at Whiskey Park North.

Major Nine. Sat. May 18, 10 p.m. $25-$60. Whiskey North, Tampa. eventbrite.com.
